Maricopa County Early Childhood Education Center

With deep expertise in complex historic renovations, Signature Projects delivered a change of use transformation of a 100+ year-old structure into a vibrant early education center for Maricopa County. Our team managed full interior demolition—including foundation removal—while preserving the building’s original masonry and roof, showcasing our precision, attention to detail, and respect for historic integrity.

The 12,000-square-foot building—once a printing press, later a warehouse, and most recently a concert venue—was reimagined into a Head Start and Early Head Start facility for children from birth to age five. Scope included classroom buildouts, a clerestory addition, new interior and exterior playgrounds, ramadas, street and parking lot paving, and extensive masonry restoration.

Completed in collaboration with GH2 Architects, the project is now under consideration for a historic preservation award and stands as a meaningful investment in early childhood development and the Phoenix community.
